Aerial Bundled Cable
ABC Cable
Insulated overhead cable — safer, lower line losses, EPC standard for urban distribution
ABC (Aerial Bundled Cable) is an insulated overhead distribution cable consisting of XLPE-insulated aluminum cores twisted around a bare or insulated neutral messenger. Compared to bare conductors, ABC dramatically reduces theft, accidental contact, tree-trip outages, and line-to-line faults — making it the modern standard for low-voltage distribution in cities, rural electrification, and international grid projects.
ABC supply scope
This product page is limited to low-voltage aerial bundled cable rated 0.6/1 kV. The factory catalogue lists AAC phase conductors with an AAAC or ACSR neutral conductor and core arrangements of 1, 2, 3, 4, 3+1 and 4+1; medium-voltage covered-conductor or aerial-cable enquiries are outside this page's scope.
The published configurations below are copied from the LV ABC catalogue. Send the governing standard, exact phase and neutral configuration, insulation material and installation environment so the factory can confirm the order-specific construction and documents.
Key features
- XLPE insulation rated 0.6/1 kV, weather and UV resistant
- Compact bundled design — reduced right-of-way
- Drastically lowers theft and accidental electrocution
- Reduced line losses, lower outage rates
- Published core arrangements: 1, 2, 3, 4, 3+1 and 4+1
- AAAC or ACSR neutral messenger options
Typical applications
- Low-voltage urban distribution (0.6/1 kV)
- Rural electrification programs
- Forest / wooded area lines (reduced tree-trip)

All 18 rows on Huanghe's LV ABC catalogue page 5 are reproduced without manual selection. RM is retained from the published configuration designation. The catalogue defines the phase conductor as AAC and the neutral conductor as AAAC or ACSR. Current values are the catalogue's current-in-air figures. This table is procurement data for 0.6/1 kV LV ABC, not a cable-sizing recommendation.

Frequently asked questions about ABC
Q.What's the main advantage of ABC over bare conductors?
ABC is fully insulated — it eliminates accidental contact, drastically reduces theft, lowers tree-trip outages, and allows tighter installation in cities. Total project cost is often lower despite higher cable cost, due to fewer outages and reduced right-of-way.
Q.Do you supply ABC accessories (insulation piercing connectors, suspension clamps)?
List every required accessory separately in the RFQ, including connectors, clamps, hooks and brackets. Cable and accessory availability, compatibility and documents are confirmed against the exact order rather than assumed from this cable page.
Q.What's the typical lead time for a 40HQ container of ABC?
Lead time and drum length depend on the standard, phase-neutral configuration, insulation material, quantity and destination. Send the cable schedule for an order-specific production and shipping quotation.
Q.Is ABC suitable for tropical climates with heavy UV?
State the installation climate, UV exposure and required insulation standard in the RFQ. The factory will confirm the applicable insulation material and test-document requirement for the exact construction.
